Asking Alexandria has released a music video for their single “The Death Of Me” from their brand new
album “From Death To Destiny”.
This music video was directed by Frankie Nasso
and opens with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that says ‘The only person you are destined to become
is the person you decide to be.’
The plot revolves around a young
boy (child version of frontman Danny Worsnop) who faces temptation from
the women behind the glass in vending machines, each one representing a vice
–alcohol, cocaine, heroin, pills and who is trying to discover his own destiny.
Asking Alexandria latest album “From Death To Destiny” has debuted at nº5
on Billboard Top 200, making the band´s highest charting debut to date and
chalking up Sumerian Records highest first-week sales to date with 41,082 units
sold.
The band also achieve nº1 debut on the UK rock
and metal charts.
Ben Bruce recently shared his
excitement, saying, “I don’t know where
to start! I can’t begin to express just how excited I am with the success
of ‘From Death to Destiny.’ It’s our biggest first week yet and proof
that heavy music is alive and well. ”None
of this would be possible without the love and devotion of our incredible fans.
They prove to us and the world time and time again that they are a force to be
reckoned with,” he said. “They won’t be shunned and their presence will be
globally recognized. Our fans are helping to keep rock ‘n’ roll alive and
I couldn’t be more proud to be sharing this battle with them. Things are only
going to get bigger and better from here on out.”
Asking Alexandria have unveiled two bonus tracks from their third studio
album – “From Death To Destiny” – called “Dead” and “Someone, Somewhere” (Ben
Bruce acoustic).

Danny Worsnop, lead singer of Asking Alexandria, confirmed that the band
has just finished shooting a new music video for their second single “The Death Of Me” from their third album From Death To Destiny, going to be
released on August 6th.
Worsnop posted new photos on Instagram
confirming the news, yet the release date has not been revealed. With the first
photo Danny stated – “With young me (also called
Danny) on set of our new video for "The Death Of Me" A story of addiction, sin and seduction.”
From Death to Destiny is the third studio album by British rock band Asking Alexandria, which is
going to be released on 6th August of this year.
Lead singer Danny Worsnop has commented on
the sound of this new album saying that it will be very different from their
previous album – Reckless and
Relentless. Worsnop has said it is “a
musical baby of Mötley Crüe
and Slipknot”, featuring happier and more uplifting lyrics.
Asking Alexandria has already released “Run Free” on the 4th
of December 2012 with its live debut at the PNC Banks Arts Center in New Jersey
and “The
Death of Me”, released on 28 March 2013 and debuting live at a
performance at the Nile Theatre, in Mesa, Arizona.
Asking Alexandria is a British rock band from York, North Yorkshire, founded by guitarist
Ben Bruce in 2008. The band has already released two studio albums – Stand Up and Scream (2009) and Reckless & Relentless (2011) and has
currently finished working on their third album Death to Destiny, which has not yet been given a release date. The
current line-up of the group consists of Ben Bruce (lead guitar), Danny Worsnop
(vocals), Cameron Liddell (rhythm guitar), Sam Bettley (bass guitar) and James
Cassells (drums).
On May 15 (2012), Asking Alexandria released a short
film entitled Through Sin + Self-Destruction, which promised a “controversial,
uncensored look into the real lives of a new era of rockstars for today´s
generation”. The film contains a trilogy of three music videos from the band´s
second album - Reckless and Relentless, To the StageandDear Insanity. It also counts with guest appearances, such as:
Sebastian Bach, Belladonna, Andy San Dimas, Frankie Palmeri and Johnny Plague.
The trilogy, written by Ash Avildsen, is truly
the essence of sex, drugs and heavy metal. It shows, as it is stated by
vocalist Danny Worsnop, the darkest life period of the band members, highlighting
their self-destruction.
The first song is Reckless
and Relentlessand the plot starts in Beverly Hills (USA), while
the second and third songs are passed in West Hollywood (USA). With the second
song entitled To the Stageit is showed the most dramatic
moment of the trilogy with the almost death of the band´s vocalist and with the
distressed request from lead guitarist Ben Bruce - “Danny wake up!”- after seeing
the fellow band member laying unconsciously on a couch. Dear Insanityconcludes this trilogy, showing Danny´s “resurrection”
and the five band members playing a live show, while the crowd is cheering.
Alcohol, sex, drugs, bar fights, overdoses and
most important music, nothing is hidden with Asking Alexandria. After listening
to their music and seeing this short film it is understood that when it is said
on their song Reckless and Relentless - “I
am Rock and Roll” they are definitely telling the truth.
