All Shall Perish Is Going To Continue Without Eddie Hermida

In a statement posted on All Shall Perish Facebook page, the band assures their fans that they will continue despite the vocalist changes.

Read their full statement below:

"Earlier today, the official announcement came out that Hernan "Eddie" Hermida has joined Suicide Silence. Eddie has quit All Shall Perish to Join Suicide Silence full time. To all our fans who want to know about the future of ASP, keep this in mind: Mike Tiner has been a major writer in the band and will continue to be. We had big shoes to fill when guys like Chris Storey and original vocalist Craig Betit left All Shall Perish, but we were able to rebound with the addition of massive talents like Adam Pierce, Francesco Artusato and Eddie Hermida.
Eddie has big shoes to fill himself, stepping in for our fallen brother Mitch Lucker. All Shall Perish has continued before and will continue now. We wish Suicide Silence all the best."

Nativ Confirm New Identity

Nativ have officially confirmed via Facebook that they are the band formerly known as Attack Attack!.

"Greetings friends!
We wanted to take a second and introduce ourselves to all of you. We are Nativ!
Yes, it is true that some of us were members of Attack Attack!, but let us take a minute to clear the air.
As we're sure you all know, Attack Attack had some serious shit happen to it through its career. Band members coming and going, tours postponed and canceled, and a host of other crazy-ass things that came with simply being AA!
I think you guys can all agree that by the time the final AA! tour came around, AA! had been looonnggg gone. We were dead on arrival. Having taken that into account, we certainly were not finished making music. Not by a long shot.
So where did Nativ come from?
Well, part of the decision process in letting AA! go came from working on an album.
Wetzel and Whiting had started writing for a new record back in September 2012. By the time January 2013 rolled around, we were demoing tracks with Phil and Tyler. By February we had a solid album starting to take shape.
During the months of April/May, we took time off from writing to say goodbye to AA! on our European and US headliners.
When all the touring was done and we had finally put AA! to rest, Will joined Nativ to help us finish recording our debut record.
Originally, we thought we needed to write another AA! record, but what we found out was that we really wanted to write an album that is something new and different. We really wanted to take a step in a new direction. Get a fresh start.
We wanted to make something that wasn't AA!. Something that AA! could never be.
So here we are!
We're very excited to show you what we have and hopefully you will enjoy this experience with us even more than you/we did Attack Attack!
Thank you for reading and we hope to see you soon!

Love and respect,
-Nativ"

Judge Rules In Favor of A Day To Remember Against Victory Records

A judge has ruled in favor of A Day To Remember's effort to self-release their new album, Common Courtesy.

However, the statement indicates that the band could potentially still owe Victory Records two more albums, and the label may end up receiving any profits that the band makes from Common CourtesyThe case will continue to proceed to trial.

Here is the full statement from Victory's lawyer, Robert S. Meloni, below:

“While Victory is disappointed with the ruling, and disagrees with the court's conclusions, it comes as no surprise. Courts rarely grant negative injunctions of this nature, but the circumstances of this case presented a unique opportunity for such a ruling. Having said that, in denying Victory's motion, the court's reasoning actually contained silver linings that significantly favored Victory. First, the court held that it supports Victory's argument about the construction of the recording contract – that ADTR is still obligated to deliver two more albums to Victory -- "at last equally, if not more so, than that offered by ADTR." That is the core issue in this case and the only one that really matters in the end, so Victory is heartened that the court agreed with Victory's position on that core issue. Also, the sole basis for the court's denial of the injunction was that Victory would not suffer "irreparable harm" that could not be compensated by money damages if the album were to be self released, in that it has ample evidence to prove its damages against the band (in the form of lost profits if ADTR does proceed to self release Common Courtesy). That is, even if the band self releases it, Victory is likely to be awarded any profits the band makes on that album, plus additional lost profits suffered by Victory based on the fact that Victory would undeniably do a far better job at marketing the album had Victory released it, which is what Victory is known for and is the reason why ADTR signed with Victory in the first place. In sum, it is a "successful" defeat in a way, and one which Victory welcomed because of the manner in which the Court rendered its opinion.
This case will proceed to trial, and Victory is looking forward to the opportunity to vindicate the baseless claims filed by ADTR.

-Robert S. Meloni”

A Day To Remember and their management have also released an official statement regarding the ruling. They have confirmed that the record will be released as a digital exclusive on October 8, as planned.

Check out the statement from the band and management below:

“A federal judge today ruled that A Day To Remember are free to release their new album Common Courtesy without Victory Records. In an Order issued earlier today, U.S District Court Judge John Z. Lee denied Victory Records' Motion for a Preliminary Injunction in which Victory had sought to block the band from releasing this new album without Victory's involvement.

In a statement this evening the band offered: "In May of 2011 we joined the long list of bands that have filed suit against Victory Records.  Although our case is still ongoing, we are very pleased with the judge’s decision to allow us to release our next record. The only thing that has mattered to us while dealing with this lawsuit was getting new music to our fans. We are finally going to do that on October 8th and we couldn't be more excited!"

Common Courtesy is only available digitally at ADTR.com and will be released Tuesday, October 8th.”

The lawsuit was initially filed by A Day To Remember back in 2011. The band claimed that they had fulfilled their contractual agreement with Victory Records.

Mayday Parade Stream “Ghosts”

Mayday Parade streamed “Ghosts”, the lead single from their fourth studio album “Monsters In The Closet”.

"We are so excited to release our first song "Ghosts" off our newest album Monsters In The Closet," notes bassist Jeremy Lenzo. "This song has to do with your inner demons, and it portrays that in a literal sense by referring to them as ghosts and how they are always with you. We can't wait for everyone to hear all the songs on Monsters In The Closet. I think this album has a little bit of everything, and we hope everyone enjoys this album as much as we loved creating it."

Interview with DeathWalking

DeathWalking is a Spanish death metal band from Galicia, Spain, that started in 2007 when a group of friends who had previously been involved in musical projects together decided to create DWT band playing for a period of time in Galicia and even recording their first single “Buscando unha saída”.

After ceasing their musical activity for a period of time, the band was then re-launched by two of its founding members who changed the band´s name to DeathWalking and began to record their first studio album entitled “Infectados”.

The current line-up of the group consists of Ederon Körst (vocals and guitar), Diego (clean vocals and bass), Michel (lead guitar) and Santi Pir (drums).

Immortalis and DeathWalking joined forces a few weeks ago and did an interview.

Here you can see their answers:

1.   First of all, for those who aren´t familiarized with the band, how and when did you get started?

The truth is that, as DeathWalking we are about 2 years. 5 years ago, proposed us a concert at a local, so we gathered some friends and we wrote some songs for live. We played together for some time, but cause of work and studies we finally separated. Two years ago, we decided to continue the project with a new name and new themes ... and here we are!

2.   How did you come up with the name DeathWalking? Does it have a special meaning?

At first, we called Deathwalking Terror, like the Cannibal Corpse song, but with the return we decided to shorten it.. hehe! The truth is that it is a name that has a lot to do with the music we make and the vision of life we have.... a little bit of everything.

3.   Who are your major influences?

From classic rock bands like Black Sabbath, to the most modern metal bands like Lamb of God or Suicide Silence, obviously including our favorite bands, My Dying Bride, Anathema...

4.  What are the main themes or topics of your songs?

Above all: the zombies and everything around them!, but we also talk about human suffering, addictions, diseases ... without flowers or hope ... haha!

5.   Where do you usually gather song writing inspiration?

We can´t say that we possess an inspiration concrete. I guess all the fantasy and horror literature that we have swallowed along life, series, movies, our own experiences and some around us ... are a good source.

6.  What makes you different from other bands?

Hmmm ... why we are different from other bands ... well ... I think It could be by unexpected rate changes, electronic samplers, all the instrumental parts, which form a large percentage of our compositions ... all this forms an interesting amalgam, and apart, we are undead!

7.      Are you thinking or working on a release for a full-length album?

We are working on our second album. We have already released the single "Die to keep killing"

8.      What has been your biggest challenge as a band?

Hahaha! Our first concert. We were told a week in advance, so we wrote and rehearsed everything in that time...

9.      If you weren´t musicians, what would you do for a living instead?

We all have our own jobs. We cannot live by music... at least not for now.

10.  What are your hopes for the near future?

We are working on the idea of a couple of music videos, and although we have not yet released the second album, we're already thinking about the third one...

11.  Do you think online presence is important for fans to find you?

Certainly does. I think is important for any band, because it is a very easy way to reach all parts of the world.

12.  What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

They have to play what they really like, because after all, you have to have fun with what you do, regardless of what others think.

13.  Do you want to leave a message for your fans?

Thank you all for your support. The music would not be possible without people like you. Really!

PS: Be ready for the zombie holocaust, you never know what can happen...

14.  And finally, can you sum up DeathWalking in just one word?

Wow... a little bit difficult... “Enthusiasm”.

This band is very talented and after learning about them and hearing their songs I have become an avid fan of their sound.

So if you like good death metal bands this is the one to hear!

Good solid songs, interesting concepts, zombies and overall great and approachable musicians and band members.
