Nine Inch Nails Unveil “Copy Of A”

The studio version of Nine Inch Nails new song “Copy Of A” is now available on Youtube and Amazon where you can download it for free.

“Downward Spiral’ felt like I had an unending bottomless pit of rage and self-loathing inside me and I had to somehow challenge something or I’d explode,” Trent Reznor tells the Guardian. “I thought I could get through by putting everything into my music, standing in front of an audience and screaming emotions at them from my guts … but after a while it didn’t sustain itself, and other things took over – drugs and alcohol.”

Reznor continues, “And I’m happy that I don’t feel that way anymore. I’ve learned to recognize, a lot of it forced through the process of recovery that I’m wired wrong in certain ways, the chemical balance of my brain is off in terms of depression a little bit. This record was written as the other side of that journey. The despair and loneliness and rage and isolation and the not-fitting-in aspect that still is in me, but I can express that in a way that feels more appropriate to who I am now. And often that rage is quieter."

Hesitation Marks’ will hit shelves on Sept. 3.

All's Well That Ends Well   -

Motley Crue To Finish In 2014-2015?

Vince Neil says Motley Crue can “say goodbye” in 2014-2015 after 30 years.

Neil says that before calling it quits, the band will release some new music and perhaps the soundtrack for the movie adaptation of their memoir “The Dirt” - We want to go out on top. We don’t want to be one of those bands that people are like, ‘Oh, they’re playing a … little club now,’” Neil tells The Oakland Press. “We still sell out arenas and do stadium shows and stuff like that, and that’s how we want to be remembered.

The health of guitarist Mick Mars who is struggling with ankylosing spondylitis, a painful form of chronic arthritis is one of the causes: “It’s just time. Mick’s (Mars) health is not that good, and touring is tough on him,” said Neil. “I’m sure in five, 10 years’ time we’ll probably do something together again, but it’s not gonna be like a Kiss farewell to the farewell to the farewell tour. We’re not gonna be like that.”

Vince Neil assures that he will continue his solo career: “I’m planning to release something maybe before the end of the Motley run,” he shared. “That way it would come out right toward the end of that, and I can just go straight from Motley and continue touring on that (solo album). That’s the idea now, at least. It’s a ways away, still.”

Jason Rosenthal Passes Away

On The Might Of Princes vocalist and guitarist Jason Rosenthal has passed away from a sudden heart attack at the age of 35.

Bassist Tommy Orza confirmed his passing on the band's Facebook page: "it is with insane sadness that i have to write and say that jason rosenthal, singer/guitarist for On the Might of Princes, passed away last night. i don't know what to say. of course he and i have had many differences, but at the heart of what we did and what we shared, is an overwhelming amount of passion for the beauty and struggle of a long on/off friendship and trying to keep a sinking musical ship afloat. he gave so much of himself through his music, and touched so many hearts... helping us along through our hardships and loves. i'm not going to post any particular song right now, but encourage you to find the song that hit with you the most, and blast the fucking shit out of it. goodbyes like this are not good, but the flame unique people like him leave behind will warm us until we join him somewhere. be strong and hug the people you love everyday."

Asking Alexandria Debut At NÂș5 On Billboard Top 200

Asking Alexandria latest album “From Death To Destiny” has debuted at nÂș5 on Billboard Top 200, making the band´s highest charting debut to date and chalking up Sumerian Records highest first-week sales to date with 41,082 units sold.

The band also achieve nÂș1 debut on the UK rock and metal charts.

Ben Bruce recently shared his excitement, saying, “I don’t know where to start! I can’t begin to express just how excited I am with the success of ‘From Death to Destiny.’ It’s our biggest first week yet and proof that heavy music is alive and well. ”None of this would be possible without the love and devotion of our incredible fans. They prove to us and the world time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with,” he said. “They won’t be shunned and their presence will be globally recognized. Our fans are helping to keep rock ‘n’ roll alive and I couldn’t be more proud to be sharing this battle with them. Things are only going to get bigger and better from here on out.”

Phil Baheux Dies At 45

Drummer Phil Baheux of the metal band Channel Zero has passed away on August 10 at the age of 45.

The Belgian band has issued a statement regarding their drummer´s death:It is with great sadness that Channel Zero must announce the death of their brother and drummer Phil Baheux. The death of Phil Baheux (age 45) this morning is a terrible shock to the members of the group and the crew. We ask you to respect the privacy of his family and the group.”

Billy Torney of Channel Zero’s record label CNR Records has also commented on Baheux’s passing, telling HLN, “I cannot comment on the exact cause of death, but 45 years is obviously still very young.”

After disbanding in 1997, Channel Zero reunited in 2010, releasing their latest album ‘Feed’em With a Brick’ on Roadrunner Records in 2011.

Baheux was one of Channel Zero’s founding members, starting the band in 1990 with bassist Tino De Martino and singer Franky De Smet-Van Damme.

Dark Angel Talk About Their Reunion Plans

Dark Angel is an American trash metal band, formed in 1981 under the name Shellshock.

The band was in hiatus since 2002 and apparently drummer Gene Hoglan and original vocalist Don Doty have reconnected and are now discussing a possible reunion.

Howdy everybody. Now that I’m off the road for a few minutes, I’d like to address these Dark Angel rumors that are flying around,” begins Hoglan. “Yes, we have been talking about doing something next year, and although it looks like possibly some festivals could be in the works, right now it’s just speculation. Don Doty and myself have been in contact for the first time in many many years, and it’s been great to re-connect with my old friend. Fortunately, I’ve remained great buddies with all the DFA guys after all these years, and we do try to stay in contact with each other and see each other when we can, especially since we are all spread out over the Western US. We are indeed discussing the possibility of a reunion, and yes, the DFA guys are well aware of all of my other commitments, such as Testament, Dethklok and the like. So again, we are moving forward s-l-o-w-l-y, with hopes to getting Dark Angel’s wings off the ground for festival season in 2014.

Adds Doty, “Members of Dark Angel are currently sitting down for talks for a reunion. This will be for the year 2014. All are excited. I was talking on a radio show recently and had said that all members would be attending, this statement may have been misunderstood. Myself, Gene, Mike, Eric and Jim are talking and when talks are complete a statement will be given. We will know more in the months to come. We will let you know as it unravels.

Falling In Reverse Ask For Fan Contributions

Falling In Reverse are asking for fan contribution to help them make a music video for their song “Keep Holding On” off their album Fashionably Late.

The rules were posted on the band´s website:

"Create an image with the lyric that inspires you most from our song “Keep Holding On." Remember, we need art for all of the lyrics, and lesser-used lines will have a higher chance of making it into the video!

You can get the lyrics in the description of this video.

Once you’ve made your image, post it to tumblr with the tags #FallingInReverse and #FIRholdon to enter. We’re going to choose our favorites and compile them into one awesome video.

Images should be high-res, and ideally 1280x720. Make sure you post your images before August 30th to be qualified."

Gerard Way Posts Lyrics

Gerard Way, former My Chemical Romance vocalist, has posted the lyrics of a new song titled “Millions”, saying it is about “a group of jewel thieves”.

"MILLIONS"

"You twist my arm
I’m twisting fate
You’ll leave alone, or crazy great
Or break into a million pieces, all your reasons
Lets live alone
And out of state
Lets make up everything and wake up breathing
Don’t give a damn about the wreck you leave in
You can use my friends, but that depends-
On what [they're] for
And while we’re laying on the floor
My mouth is sore
I’m keeping score
A million reasons but I need a million more
You believe in love
I believe in faith
They’ll believe in anything, you make up villains
A trillion legions of the damned and William,
It was really me
It was really you
There was really nothing I could do
Until then,
Lets use our magic powers with the children
You don’t understand, we don’t hold hands
Come catch me, run
Cuz I’m not having any fun
I think you’re sore
I think I’m done
A million reasons
Can I be your number one?
Yeah. Yeah."

Frank Iero New Demo Joyriding

Frank Iero, former My Chemical Romance guitarist, has released a new demo called Joyriding.

Lyrics:

i'm not sure what they said, but if it's true i'll bet
it's just one more thing i'll regret.
i hate my weaknesses, they made me who i am.
'yea it's cool i'll be ok'
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that's on your face.
these things inside my head, they never make much sense.
so i wouldn't hold my breath...
i hope i die before they save my soul.
'yea it's cool i'll be ok'
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that's on your face.
don't hang up, because i don't have anyone left here
don't give up, don't hang on to anything i've said.
i hate my weaknesses, they made me who i am
it makes no difference, i'm insignificant.
'yea it's cool i'll be ok'
as i felt your pain wash over me, so i dry your eyes and hide my shakes
because i hate that look that's on your face
and this is not the end for us.

Also singer Anthony Raneri stated about the signing: “In our 13 years as a band we have released records through a bunch of labels and different situations. When we were looking for a label this time around, we really set out to find a label that could be our last label. We wanted to be somewhere that was actually emotionally invested in their bands no matter what the bands potential or situation was. Hopeless really had the family vibe that we were looking for. We have already had friends on the label and we hit it off with the staff on a personal level immediately. It is nice to have a label that feels like a member of your team instead of a third party.”
