Avril Lavigne and Nickelback vocalist Chad Kroeger got married on Monday,
July 1, at a chateau in the South of France.

The couple wed before 50 friends and relatives
and decided to go with a dark, gothic theme for their wedding
- Avril told HELLO! - "I wanted
it to be over the top. I'm obsessed with castles and I love French décor and
Goth. I found this castle and it was perfect. I also wanted to make sure it was
a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests."
The wedding was full of emotions; Chad even admitted crying when he saw his bride for the first time
at the altar, who was wearing a black gothic Monique Lhuillier gown - "I
had goosebumps from head to toe and my eyes filled with tears. It's a moment I
will never forget as long as I live”. Avril
also told HELLO! Magazine- "My
body was overtaken by emotion. I saw him and he was so calm and happy. He had a
tear coming down and he wiped it away. I felt so good walking to him. It made
me feel like a complete woman."
This is the first marriage for Chad Kroeger, 38, and
the second for Avril Lavigne, 28, who was previously married with Deryck
Whibley from Sum 41 and filled for divorce in 2009.
